The UARA Top Ten Countdown- 10th Place Clint King

Young Clint King of Denton, NC comes home as the tenth place point finisher for the UARA in 2010. King the next to youngest driver on the UARA circuit for 2010 began the year at a whopping 14 years of age.

King is the only 2010 Rookie to win a race this season and he did it in style showing the strength and determination he has to be a contender with the best of the best late model stock drivers. King captured his win at the second race of the season in Kingsport TN putting him to the attention of the more seasoned veteran drivers. On that warm March afternoon he gained respect and admiration from all who witnessed his win. Not only did he win but he led the most laps with 142 of 150 claimed as his.

During 2010 King received the DRP 1st place award, Performance Tees 1st place award, Rookie of the Race four times, Sonic most laps led award, Sonic 5th pace award, Performance Tees and WP Racing Shocks 6th place award, DJ Safety 9th place award two times, WP Racing Shocks 11th place award two times and the Swift Springs 12th place award.

Another award King received is the ARbodies Hard Luck Award. It is a great help to drivers who have suffered a bad night at the track. King received this award for his run at the season finale at Rockingham Speedway. King was having a great run for the day when as he raced down the backstretch he was contacted by a fellow driver while battling for fourth position. The contact would cause his car to spin and his day would end with a thirteenth place finish instead of the strong top five he was in the process of accomplishing.

King has shown great driving ability at both short tracks and the longer tracks. David King (Clint’s dad) is always there as the backbone to the Clint King Motorsports to lead and guide his young son. The team works hard and diligent with a minimum crew to help Clint have the best run he can.

We have watched King mature both on and off the track over this year and look forward to seeing him continue with a successful racing career.
