October 22, 2013 – Ronnie Bassett Jr. looks forward to the final UARA-STARS event of 2013 as the tour makes their second stop at Anderson Motor Speedway (SC), a preferred track for the No. 04 Bassett Racing team. 17 year old Bassett looks to return to victory lane and shake off his performance in the Fluidyne 150 presented by Ultra Cool Brake Fans at Tri County Motor Speedway (NC). This past Saturday at Tri County Ronnie Bassett Jr. was consistently fast on old tires during practice. Bassett backed up his speed in qualifying, claiming the outside pole just one one-hundredth off the pole time set by eventual race winner Garrett Campbell. … When the green flag dropped for the 22 car UARA-STARS field, Ronnie Bassett Jr. settled into third by the time the first caution waived on lap 53. He reported a slightly free racecar and after the field restarted Bassett held onto third while letting Garrett Campbell and Steven Wallace battle for the lead ahead of him. Just past halfway Bassett slid outside the top three and found himself as far back as sixth when the red flag was brought out on lap 115, now reporting a tight racecar. The field restarted with 27 laps to go and Ronnie Bassett Jr. moved back into the top five, battling Travis Swaim side by side for multiple laps for the fourth position. Within ten laps to go Bassett went for a spin off turn four, down the front stretch. Fortunately the rest of the field was able to avoid his sideways machine and Ronnie Bassett Jr. made multiple trips down pit road for adjustments prior to the GWC finish. The Bassett Racing team salvaged a 14th place finish, two laps down, with their No. 04 Rheem / Rex Younger Galleries / Butler Trailer Ford. “We went from free to tight in the race. Our car was rotating so well I got into the inside turn three wall, and I think I may have knocked the toe out,” Ronnie Bassett Jr. commented. “It’s unfortunate to end our run of top two finishes at Tri County, but we need to stay focused and not let past performances affect us going into Anderson.” Ronnie Bassett Jr. is the defending fall race winner at Anderson Motor Speedway in both the 2011 and 2012 UARA-STARS events. In his last five races at the Williamston, South Carolina racetrack Ronnie Bassett Jr. has one Sunoco Pole and has been first to the finish line in each event. In June Bassett claimed his third UARA victory of the 2013 season, and is eager to pick up where he left off at the 3/8 mile oval. The UARA-STARS are scheduled to take the green flag for The Halloween 150 just past 7 PM Saturday. Check out for race coverage. Follow @BassettJr_04 and @BassettRacing1 on Twitter for track updates.
