Tyler Laing No. 16 Biscayne Roofing Chevrolet Newport Speedway Pre-Race Report
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 14, 2012) – Tyler Laing and the No. 16 Biscayne Roofing Chevrolet Coulter Motorsports team head to Newport Speedway Saturday night for the Jeff’s Auto Sales 150. Having recently celebrated his 19th birthday, Laing heads into this weekend’s event looking for a second celebration.
Working on consistency and showing improvements each week, Laing and crew chief Mikey Toemmes have spent considerable time gaining valuable track time each week. The 2012 UARA-STARS Rookie of the Year contender spent time with teammate and 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rookie of the Year Joey Coulter this past week, going over the team’s Chevrolet’s and the new tracks Laing will visit.
Saturday’s Jeff’s Auto Sales 150 will mark Southwest Ranches, Fla. native Laing’s first trip to Newport Speedway. UARA will have an open practice day Friday, followed by two practice sessions from 12:30-1:30 p.m. and 2:15-3:00 p.m. Qualifying follows at 5:30 p.m. followed by the green flag at 8:00 p.m. (all times eastern.)
