am Engine Kevin Blanks Wins Comp Cam Engine Builder of the Year

Kevin Blanks is a well known name in the racing industry. Blanks owns an engine shop in Clarksville, VA. Blanks has been building powerhouses for many a racer since 1982.  

Blanks is to be congratulated on being the Comp Cams Engine Builder of the Year for the UARA series in 2010. Blanks engines won four of the UARA events this past season.  Blanks feat didn't come easy. There were a mixed bag of engine builders throughout the year within the UARA. There were also factory crate engines working with the 107 drivers competing in the series.

Blanks has mostly worked with Busch series teams over the years . He has however worked with a limited number of Late Model teams during his engine building career. One such team for the past few years has been the Fat Head Racing (FHR) team from Forest City, NC.  

FHR has been widely recognized over the years and has had special note with the young Texas driver Brennan Poole being the man behind the wheel for 2009 and 2010. FHR has been an avid Blanks customer for the past six years. Along with Poole they have had Matt Mc Call, Matt DiBenedetto, Paddy Rodenbeck, Jamie Yelton and Steve Wallace to name a few to manhandle Blanks powered cars. 

Since 2002 Blanks has focused mostly on machining work for many of the well known engine builders throughout the racing community.
