Brennan Poole Rocks Salem with Debut ARCA Victory
May 2, 2011 (Concord, NC) – Current UARA Series point leader Brennan Poole made a big splash onto the national racing scene Sunday afternoon by winning the ARCA Kentuckian Ford Dealers 200 at Salem Speedway.
Driving the No.55 Venturini Motorsports – Renton Coil Springs Chevrolet, Brennan displayed the poise of a veteran as he used his raw talent to battle his way back from a lap down to capture the checkered flag in his first-ever ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards event.
"I just feel blessed to be in this car and get the Venturinis to Victory Lane," Poole said. "It's incredible. My first time at Salem, and my first time in an ARCA car, and I've just got to thank God,” said Poole.
In a total team effort Venturini Motorsports found the winning combination to capture their second consecutive victory at Salem Speedway.
“Brennan did an amazing job today! I told him earlier in the week we were gonna give him a shot to win this thing and he did…wow I’m so proud of what he did today” said Venturini Motorsports General Manager, Billy Venturini. “Crew chief Kevin Caldwell and spotter David Peppers did a terrific job working with Brennan this weekend; it was a total team effort.”
Victory lane is nothing new to this ARCA newcomer. Virtually an unknown driver to the average fan, Poole has been swapping paint with talented young drivers such as Trevor Bayne, Austin Dillon & James Buescher for years. Over the last two seasons the 20-year old has been re-writing the UARA Stars record book with victory after victory.
Already with two UARA victories to his credit in 2011, Poole collected six victories in 2010 (a UARA Series record) and took home the prestigious UARA Rookie of the Year honors in 2009. His success on and off the track has made him a fan favorite, which is evident as he’s earned back-to-back UARA Most Popular Driver Awards in 2009 and 2010.
