The UARA Top Ten Countdown - 4th Lee Tissot
A face well know to the UARA series is fourth place finisher Lee Tissot. Not a stranger to racing. Tissot was raised in the racing arena. His father Randy Tissot is a well know Late Model Stock driver from the 70's and 80's. Lee Tissot has followed in his father's footsteps leaving his name in the record books for all to see. Tissot's father doesn't attend the races due to a bad back but his mother Patti and sister Nicole are strong supporters and attend
most if not all of Tissot's races.
Tissot had his debut UARA race in the third event of 2002 at Newport Speedway on May 4th. Tissot has competed in a total of 94 UARA events. Lee Tissot is a past UARA Champion having accomplished that goal in 2003. Tissot has won six total UARA races with four of those occurring during his Championship year. Tissot has also accumulated 4 Sunoco poles during his UARA career.
2010 was a good year for Tissot even without any wins or poles to his credit. Tissot was dissappointed in the fact he hadn't led a lap or won a race but he was always a front pack contender with consistent top ten finishes. Tissot had two 2nd place finishes along with four 3rd, one 4th, three 6th, two 7th, one 8th, one 12th, one 19th and one 25th place finish for the season.
Tissot has been teamed up with Mitch West for three different seasons, 2003, 2004 & 2010. Tissot won his 2003 Championship under the watchful eye of West. He finished third in overall points with the West team in 2004.
West and Austin Green teamed up for 2010 and house their cars in Marshall, NC with the West maintaining them.
Car owner Green says they more than likely will return to the UARA for 2011. Tissot said " I don't know, it was a good year, we didn't tear up a lot, we ran good but just didn't finish the job. We will see."
Tissot was driver for Brad Allen Construction for a limited schedule in 2005 then he teamed up with Stan Robinson.
Tissot also drove for Robinson Racing Ent. a few races in 2005 and 2006. Tissot joined forces with Robinson for the whole schedule of 2007 on the UARA circuit. Tissot was awarded the Holley Performer of the Year Award in 2007.
