The UARA Top Ten Countdown - 3rd Kyle Grissom

Bringing home the third place in the overall UARA points for 2011 is a young man the UARA has had the pleasure to watch grow and mature with his racing. That young man is one talented Kyle Grissom. Grissom is another one of the UARA alumni that has racing bred into him. He is following in the footsteps of his father Steve Grissom, former NASCAR Cup and Busch series driver who has many races to his credit through the years.

Grissom began his UARA career at the ripe old age of 15 with three races in 2004. His first ever UARA race at Hickory October 2, 2004 was quite impressive. Grissom finished third in that first showing with the UARA. He finished 12th and 4th i the next two events of 2004. It was the beginning of a great relationship with the Grissom family and the UARA. Grissom comes with the strong support of his dad Steve, mom Susan, twin sisters Katie and Stephanie and grandparents Wayne and Mary. Mom Susan was presented the Mother of the Year award in 2005.

His first full season was in 2005 and he continued to flex his driving abilities. Grissom brought home the RH2way Rookie of the Year title to show for his efforts in 2005. Grissom had one win in his Rookie season at Anderson Speedway.
2010 was a good year for Grissom He was runner up six times during 2010. Grissom had (1) 1st, (6) 2nd, (2) 4th, (1) 6th, (1) 7th, (1) 8th, (1) 12th, (2) 17th and (1) 20th place finish in 2010. It has been a pleasure to watch Grissom interact with his fellow drivers both on and off the track.

In a recent interview with Grissom he said, "Well, this year was as good as always with the UARA, getting to travel around and run different tracks. I really like getting to run the 4 barrel carburetor and all that stuff. The UARA is just as good as in 2005 when I started running. I don't know about next year right now and we are still working on a few things. But when it comes to be, we will probably be back with the UARA."

During his UARA career Grissom has won 5 races total and has 5 Sunoco poles to his credit. Grissom has competed in 77 UARA events to date.
