UARA Completes 2011 Schedule

The UARA has completed their 2011 schedule and it has been greatly approved of by the racers and fans.
On June 18, 2011 the UARA will invade the five-eighths-mile track of North Wilkesboro. This will be the UARA's first appearance at the speedway.

“While it still has to be determined how many laps we will race due to tire testing that must be completed, we know the priority is putting on the absolute best event we can for the fans,” UARA President Kerry Bodenhamer said. “I have worked very hard with Bosco (Lowe), Alton (McBride Jr.) and the Speedway Associates Inc. team to get this date on the calendar. I am very excited to bring UARA to the famous speedway in North Wilkesboro, N.C.”

Completing the schedule will be a race at Greenville Pickens Speedway. The UARA-STARS always put on
a great show for the South Carolina fans. A show that is always full of excitement and nail biting action.

The UARA is excited to have the task of scheduling done. It is a great schedule for 2011.

Several newcomers have signed on for the 2011 season, Austin Leitner, Adam Long, Brandon Knupp, Joey Herques, and Harrison Rhodes just to name a few. 2011 promises to be another great year for the UARA-STARS with all this great new talent coming on to challenge the veteran UARA drivers. We will be highlighting some of these drivers in coming weeks.

One newcomer to the series is a young Jesse Little. Jesse will be making his debut run with the STARS at Hickory Motor Speedway on March 12, 2011. Jesse will be running a number that is familiar to the Little family - 97. That is the number his dad Chad ran in the cup series while driving for the Roush racing organization. Chad Little is also the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, Series Director.

Jesse has raced since he was the ripe age of seven and as of 2010 he has raced Quarter Midgets, Bandolero's, Legends, Limited Late Models and a few Late Model races. He ran the Myrtle Beach race in November and qualified second and followed that up with a fifth place finish. He was the 2010 USAC Midget Champion. He has a late model win at Ace speedway in his first ever late model run and has also run in the North Wilkesboro Late Model race in 2010. The Little racing team will fit right in with the UARA family as they are family oriented as well. His mom Donna and his number one fan, sister Haley will be along as his support team. Jesse is a 13 year old straight "A" Middle School student with a love of math. He plans on going to college for a degree in Mechanical Engineering and following in his famous dad's footsteps as a cup driver.

When asked his thoughts on the UARA and 2011, Jesse said "I think that the UARA series is a awesome step up the ladder in racing. With the tracks the series runs at and all the publicity it receives in the south east, its a great way to get your career started as a young teen. I am thrilled to be running in it this year, and cannot wait to run at the tracks that have had so many great races with so many great drivers, Hickory, Rockingham, Concord, North Wilkesboro...ect. Also with the rules being mostly similar to NLMSC it prepares drivers for a future in NASCAR."

Chad Finchum is another newcomer to the UARA for 2011. Finchum has raced karts, Legends, Bandoleros, Pro Challenge and Late models. He ran four late model events at Newport Speedway in 2010 and won his second time out and had three top five finishes there. He was the 2010 Pro Division Legends U.S. Tennessee State Point Champion. Finchum competed in the Legends Pro Division of teh Legends Million at Charlotte Motor Speedway. 2009 had Finchum as the Atlanta Motor Speedway Thursday Thunder Champion. He finished second in points that year at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Summer Shootout. 2008 Finchum clinched the INEX National Championship, Summer Shootout Champion at CMS, Winter Nationals Champion, Summer Nationals Champion and the Tennessee State Championship. Needless to say Finchum has quite a resume to lead him into the UARA. From 2002-2006 Finchum had many local and state division Championships in karts.

The competition level will be high once again for the UARA-STARS.
