Pure Stock Rules

All components not listed must be factory OEM stock.

Radios may be used.

Officials retain the right to approve or disapprove rules not listed for this division.

Top 10 qualifiers are subject to drawing for positions of inversion.
 


Minimum Driver age is 12.


COMPETING MODELS

A. 1972 to present 4 cylinder passenger cars (sedan type) must have been available with front and rear seats, except trucks. No 2 seat sport type cars allowed.

B. Front or rear wheel drive vehicles permitted.

C. No 4 wheel drives.. No 4 wheel steer cars.

D. No mid-engine or rotary engine cars.

E. Automatic or Manual transmissions permitted.


ENGINES AND TRANSMISSIONS

A. Only totally stock 4 cylinder engines permitted.

B. Clutch and transmission must remain stock for make and model.

C. Tracks Manual will be used as a reference guide for all engine specifications.

D. Maximum overbore of .020.


FUEL SYSTEM

A. Carburetor or fuel injection permitted.

B. No turbo chargers will be permitted.

C. Fuel injected engines must be equipped with fuel shut off safety switch. (mercury or oil pressure)


EXHAUST SYSTEM

A. All cars must have a exhaust that exits car behind the driver. Exhaust pipe must match stock size.

B. No aftermarket headers. Stock manifold only.

C. No performance enhancing “traps” or exhaust pipes will be permitted.


WEIGHT

A. Cars must weight 22 lbs per horsepower. Horsepower ratings will be determined from TRACK MANUAL for year and make of car.

B. Weight must be securely mounted to floor pan with at least two Grade 8, 3/8 inch minimum bolts. Must be approved by officials. All weight must be painted white with car number on weight.

C. Any added weight must be removable and meet all track official requirements.

D. Right side weight must be 45% of total weight.


BODIES

A. Bodies must remain stock.

B. Fenders cannot be curved for tire clearance.

C. Wheel wells must remain stock and intact.

D. Headlights and parking lights must be removed.

E. All bumpers must remain stock.

F. Only stock firewalls in stock location will be permitted.

G. trunk area must remain stock.

H. Inner doors may be pulled for roll cage.

I. Fabricated dashes are permitted but must remain full length and in stock location. You may run a stock dash.

J. All glass must be removed.

K. Lexan windshield must be installed.

L. Stock steering column only.

M. Locking mechanism must be removed.

N. All steering wheels must be equipped with a quick release coupling.

O. Approved window net must be installed on drivers side and must release from the top. All new cars being built must have a lever type quick release catch.

P. Maximum rear spoiler 5 inches high, and no wider than deck lid.

Q. No convertibles will be permitted. All roofs must be solid.

R. Inner fenders can be removed.


ROLL CAGE AND SAFETY

A. A minimum 4 point roll cage is required. 1 ¾ inch OD, .095 inch thick. Two angle braces from top of roll cage may be connected to back of car.

B. All cars must have a minimum of 4 left side door bars.

C. 5 point racing harness required.

D. Approved aluminum racing seat required.

E. Seat must mount to approved seat frame.

F. No seat may be mounted to the floor pan.

G. Working fire extinguisher with gauge required. Must be solid mounted within reach of the driver.

H. Fuel-Cell allowed. Maximum volume of fuel cell is 8 gallons. Must be inside metal container, centered left to right inside car trunk area.

I. Fuel injected cars must use stock tank.

J. Fuel line cannot run through drivers compartment.


SUSPENSION AND BRAKES

A. Only stock suspension parts permitted.

B. No cutting or lightening of suspension parts will be permitted.

C. Unibodies may not be tied together.

D. No racing shocks or springs.

E. Entire brake system must remain stock.

F. Maximum camber: Cars 3 degrees, Trucks 5 degrees on right front only. No rear wheel camber. (SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT OFFICIALS DISCRETION)


REAR ENDS

A. No locked or posi-traction rear ends permitted.


TIRES

A. The only pre-approved tires for the Pure 4 division at LPR will be street tires as approved by the track. The tread wear on the tires is 380. They have a symmetrical tread design. They have an A traction rating and an A load rating. Other tires that have comparable specs may be approved by the track. Please call for approval on other tires.

B. All 4 tires must be the same size, 60 series or larger and must be 13”, 14” or 15”.

C. Steel aftermarket wheels accepted. Offset must be the same on all 4 wheels. All tires must be inside the body line.

D. No camber cutting tires.


ELECTRICAL

A. Battery must be the same size as originally produced for make and model of car.

B. Battery may not be located behind the rear axle. Battery cannot be installed lower than the floor pan.

C. Battery must be mounted to floor pan with 3/8” threaded rods with plate under floor pan.

D. Enclosed battery box required. Boat box may be used as long as hold down is mounted inside box.
