UARA STARS News UARA STARS to make debut at famed Greenville Pickens Speedway
Hendersonville, NC (May 7) – Greenville Pickens Speedway, known as one of the most famous short tracks in NASCAR history will play host to the STARS Late Model Touring Series this Saturday night for the first time in the tour’s five year history this Saturday May 13th at 8:00 pm.
Greenville Pickens Speedway run late models every Saturday night under the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series and also is used by all the Cup teams as a test track. The track is also known for the names of past Champions painted around the walls, with many of them going onto the next level of Motorsports.
Kyle Grissom remains on top in the UARA STARS Points Standings over Brandon Ward, Ross Furr, Jamie Yelton and Alex Yontz rounds out the top five.
UARA has averaged over thirty-five cars in the first four events. “We are expecting over thirty entries for this weekend’s race. We’ve had some great racing with four different winners. There are about twenty drivers that could win on any given night and there will be about six to eight of the local drivers that will be hard to beat”, commented Harold Crook Public Relations for UARA STARS.
Randy Porter and Marty Ward, past Pickens Champion’s along with Blair Addis will be among the local drivers competing. All three Drivers have competed with UARA in the past and will be strong contenders against the talented Touring Drivers of the UARA.
There will be one hundred fifty laps of Late Model racing, along with Greenville Pickens Chargers and Renegades. Grandstand gates will open at 4:30 pm with qualifying at 5:00, a pit party with the drivers at 7:00 pm on the front straight and the green flag will drop at 8:00
