Jamie Yelton is Ready for 2005 UARA Season

(Hickory, NC March 1st 2005) The 2005 UARA Late Model Series season opener is only a few weeks away, March 19th at Hickory Motor Speedway, and Late Model driver Jamie Yelton is ready. Yelton who lead the points series alot last year, and was one of two drivers to repeat as winner in 2004, feels like 2005 is his year. Coming off a good season, Winning 2 races, having 3 Sunoco Pole Awards, Most Laps Lead Award, and finishing second in the points standings, Yelton knows the series has a lot of talent and staying at the top will not be easy.

" I feel like we can pick up where we left off in 2004", stated Yelton. " My guys have worked hard all winter and have not stopped, I have never seen them like this, it has kept me pumped up and ready to go"." With last years winning Townsend Racecars by Performancenter, freshened up and ready to go, we also have a new car from Performancenter that will be just as good if not better." I also have new motor program that should improve us tremendously, and be more consistent. " I feel like we will be great out of the trailer at Hickory", Yelton also said " David King will be back and I know he can get the horsepower to the asphalt, and the new Goodyear tire should be real quick. I have a great feeling that starting off at Hickory and ending there, is definitely in our favor" But Yelton know the series has the toughest competition in the country, With drivers like Jamey Caudill, Jason York, Ashley Huffman, Robert Elliott and if Terry Allison comes back, and Matt McCall shows up, he has he work ahead of him. "I honestly know it will not be easy, but I have all the faith in the world in my guys, they don’t give up, and I really feel good racing Hickory, Matt McCall and I have alot of laps here, and we both have been successful, I know the fans will see a great race".

The UARA will again have a exciting 16 race schedule that takes you from the high banks of Bristol Motor Speedway, to the outer banks of North Carolina to Coastal Plains Speedway in Jacksonville, NC, to thirty minutes of our Nations Capital, Washington, DC to Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas, Va. and many short tracks in between.

The fans will see the best drivers in the country racing side by side and taking on the local favorites for a big pay check and alot of prize money at each track they visit. In 2004 there were 16 races and 13 different winners. That stat shows the talent that races each week , and 2005 will be even better.

Jamie and his "Forest City Badboys" always bring excitement everywhere they race, and 2005 they feel confident about winning. The team will have their beautiful black #8 machine ready to race as always, and the fans in the stands will cheer them to Victory Lane.
