Ross Furr is a talented young racer who has been racing for years. He started racing Go-Karts at the age of seven. In his first full season of racing he won his first race in February of 1993. That was the first of many that year. Ross went on to win 18 straight races and the “Concord Motor Speedway Track Championship” for the Rookie Division
In 1994 and 1995, Ross duplicated that dominance by winning two more Track Championships. Then in 1996 it was time to step it up a notch and he did just that by moving to the Junior Classes where he dominated by winning every race that year. After the 1996 season, Ross started racing in the 1997 World Karting Association National and State Series. In the 1997 season, he finished 3rd in the WKA National Restricted Junior Points Chase. He also went on to finish 2nd in the South Carolina State Points Chase. In 1998, Ross finished 6th and 3rd in the national points chase in two different classes. In 1999, he ran 4 classes and finished 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th on the National Tour. He also won many state championships.
In 2002, Ross made the move to race in the INEX Legend Car’s. In just three starts, he won his first legend car feature win in the “Semi-Pro Division”. He went on that year to win two more feature wins and many class wins. Ross also competed in the “Legend Car Nationals in Dodge City Kansas” where he finished 3rd.
In 2003, Ross moved to the Pro Legends and ran 5 races. He finished in the top five in four out of five starts with only one DNF.
2004 was a challenging season for Ross and his team. Ross made his first NASCAR Late Model Stock start in 2004 starting 12th. He was in 6th place when his night was ended early on lap 50. Furr then went on to run two more races where his night was ended early due to accidents caused by other drivers.
In the 2005 season, with their significant success, experience and dedication, Ross Furr and his Ross Furr Racing team are poised to be among the strongest contenders for victories in the UARA STARS Late Model Series. |
