200 lapper for UARA STARS in R Kirk Leone Builders 200 at Southern National Speedway
Kenly, NC (August 28) – UARA STARS drivers and fans are in store for the first 200 lap event in UARA history this Saturday August 28 at Southern National Speedway for the R Kirk Leone Builders 200. STARS racers normally run 150 laps but will have to gear up for an exciting 200 laps.
Jamey Caudill a past champion and multi winner at Southern National will attempt to make up some ground on point leader Matt McCall. Caudill was a victim of mechanical failure at the last UARA STARS event at Lonesome Pine Speedway and has fallen behind McCall by sixty-two points. Caudill fell behind earlier this season and battled his way back to take the point lead away from McCall. This weekend should be a good chance for him to get back to the top.
Tony Grady is another driver that has had a lot of success at Southern National Speedway. Grady who has been one of the quickest cars all season will try to over come some bad luck and claim his first UARA STARS victory.
Fans should be in for a real treat with cars and competition, Southern National has a great Late Model Stock following and with some of the locals expected to compete should make for an eventful race. 2004 Southern National Track Champion Deac McCaskill who has one UARA STARS pole this season at South Boston and was able to lead 125 laps before being passed by Caudill. McCaskill knows his way around Southern National alone with Caudill, Grady and about fifteen other drivers who can win a UARA event at any time, then throw in 200 laps around the quick four tenths speedway and race fans will be in for a real treat.
